Widow's peak
A widow's peak is a V-shaped point in the hairline at the center of the forehead. It matters for fringes because it pulls front hair in two directions, so a fringe cut straight across may split or lift at the middle. The practical response is to work with it by parting deliberately or by choosing a swept or curved fringe, and to mention it to your stylist before cutting. It is a normal variation of the hairline.
