Hair thickness
Hair thickness is the width of an individual strand, often described as fine, medium or coarse. It is separate from density, which is how many strands grow. Thickness matters because it changes how a cut behaves: fine hair usually looks fuller with a blunter edge and slightly more length on top, while coarse hair holds shape but may puff out without texturizing. Your stylist can often judge it by touch, so describe it in your own words as well.
