Patch test
A patch test is a small skin test used to check for a reaction to a product before a full application. It matters before chemical services such as perms, dye or bleach, because skin reactions can be serious, and a stylist may recommend one when appropriate. Follow the instructions of the stylist and the product manufacturer, and mention any past reactions to hair products. If you feel burning or severe discomfort during any service, speak up at once.
