Point cutting

Point cutting is snipping into the ends of hair with the scissor tips to create a soft, uneven edge rather than a blunt line. It matters because it keeps a fringe from looking heavy and encourages ends to curve or separate. A stylist might use it on the front section of comma hair or on a thin fringe so the edge looks feathery. It is one of several texturizing methods.
