Clipper guard
A clipper guard is a plastic attachment that sets how much hair a clipper leaves, usually identified by a number. It matters when you talk to a barber, because naming a guard number is the most precise way to describe how short the sides or lower block should be. If you do not know the numbers, you can describe the length as short, medium or very short, or point to a place on your head.
